NAUFRP Executive Committee Meeting March 20-21, 2023

The NAUFRP Executive Committee will meet in Washington, D.C. on March 20-21, 2023.  The meeting will be at Dentons, 1900 K Street, NW beginning at 9:00 a.m. on the 20th and adjourning approximately lunchtime on the 21st. 

Rooms have been blocked at the Hotel Lombardy located at 2019 Pennsylvania Ave, NW.  Please call and make reservations directly 800-424-5486 or 202-828-2600 by February 17th.

Global Assessment of Forest Education

The following is the link to the "Global Assessment of Forest Education" recently published by FAO: https://www.fao.org/documents/card/en/c/cc2196en/.  It is a synthesis of assessments conducted in six regions of the world, all of which are also available on the FAO website at https://www.fao.org/forestry/forest-education/99204/en/.  Forest education is defined as all education related to forests and encompasses K-12 through higher education

NAUFRP 2022 Executive Committee and General Assembly Meetings September 19 and 20

2022 Family Forest Education Award Nominations Sought

Please see the attached announcement for nominations for the FAMILY FOREST EDUCATION AWARDS sponsored by the National Woodland Owners Association (NWOA) and the National Association of University Forest Resources Programs (NAUFRP). Nominations are due August 20, 2022 and the awards will be presented at the  2022 Society of American Foresters national convention in Baltimore, MD on September 20-24, 2022.

NAUFRP Town Hall Meeting - April 6, 2022

FRP Representatives are invited to join for a Town Hall meeting on April 6, 2022 to meet with USDA Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation Robert Bonnie who will discuss forestry and natural resource climate initiatives. The virtual meeting will be 1:00-2:00 Eastern time. Details will be made available. Questions in the meantime can be directed to NAUFRP President Janaki Alavalapati (Auburn University) or Terri Bates, NAUFRP Executive Liaison.

May 23-24, 2022 In-Person NAUFRP Executive Committee Meeting, Washington, D.C.

The NAUFRP Executive Committee plans an in-person meeting in Washington, DC on May 23 and 24. The meeting will be held at the office of Washington Counsel Randy Nuckolls: Dentons, 19th & K Streets, Washington, D.C. 20006. Hotel rooms have been blocked at the Hotel Lombardy.
