Research Forest Director of Research and Community Relations 

& Silviculture Extension Specialist 

• Combo position, 50% Research Forest Director, 50% tenure-track associate/full professor 

• Provide critical leadership and oversight to 9 research and demonstration forests spanning 15, 000 acres 

• Assess and address silviculture research and outreach needs for audiences such as private forest owners, industry and agency managers, and policy makers 

• Oversee the implementation of a new forest plan, providing overarching vision and leadership 

 Have an impact 

• Provide leadership over research forests that serve as learning laboratories for learners of all types to gain insight into all aspects of forest management. 

• Share practical, locally-relevant, science-based information to improve people’s lives, livelihoods, and the environment. 

• Be a connector between Extension faculty and the research forests
