Because of your support, expressed through your annual dues and connections, we’ve been able to hold the line on federal capacity funding. McIntire-Stennis and RREA provide critical base funds for nearly all of our programs. While funding is not keeping up with inflation, Congress agrees that the work we do in our states and communities is important. If you have not yet paid your dues, please contact Terri Bates for your invoice.
NAUFRP Leadership Academy
Please join us for the inaugural NAUFRP Leadership Academy this fall in connection with the NAUFRP General Assembly meeting and SAF National Convention in Tacoma, WA on Monday, October 5. This new academy is designed to focus on academic leadership within forestry and natural resources. It will offer a unique opportunity for emerging or future leaders in our field to think about themselves as leaders. Consider nominating yourself or a colleague here. Information and a tentative agenda are attached.
Fall Meetings
Speaking of the fall meeting, please plan to join the NAUFRP General Assembly meeting on Tuesday, October 6. Location and times are attached in the draft agenda. I’m looking forward to hearing from our USDA, SAF, and APLU partners about the future of Forest Service research labs, federal funding and continuing resolutions, and how SAF and NAUFRP can continue to partner in identifying research priorities.
